All my convertible and pressed powder compacts are one, standard size. They fit pressed powder refills of 67mm diameter. Refills that fit perfectly include:

Max Factor Creme Puff Compact Powder
This is a classic high coverage powder, which can also be used as a powder foundation. Creme Puff was created by Max Factor in the 1950s so is itself a vintage powder! As such, it's always been intended for compacts so is not glued into its plastic box. It will pop into your vintage compact with ease, and comes with a thin foam puff.
Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder
This modern Rimmel powder is lighter in coverage and fragrance than Creme Puff. The small downside is that it is attached by a central splodge of glue into its plastic container. It takes a little force to lever out the powder (use a nail file or similar), but is well worth it if you are a Rimmel fan.

Estee Lauder Lucidity Pressed Powder
Estee Lauder's fine pressed powder is available within a plastic compact casing or as an uncased refill. I recommend that you buy the uncased refill (shown) which will pop easily into your new compact.
Lucidity refills can be ordered through the Estee Lauder website.
Unfortunately several leading make up brands have reduced the size of their powder pans from the standard 67mm to a rather stingier 59mm. Brands with circular powder pans of this size (or smaller!) include Bourjois, Boots 17, MAC, Clinique, Benefit and Lancome.
Fortunately, all is not lost. Vanroe compacts have new thin card inserts at the base of their powder containers. This means that you can secure a slightly smaller powder pan with a dab of glue, without damaging your lovely compact. So even if your favourite brand is not a snug fit, it can still find a happy home.
